We've Traored for Months, but All Good Things Come to an End...

We jumped on the bargain option very, very early - way back in September, when he was less than one percent owned.  We hope you did too.

But just as we predicted last month, the short term love affair is officially over.

Armand Traore gave us a nice run of clean sheets, a modest price increase, and a bit of attacking flair under Harry Redknapp - but with 'Arry now in London - it looks like our man Armand must turn from a blog favorite to a blog bust.

Will you stick with Traore and hope he retains his spot? Will you jump on Bolton's cheap (4.3MM) out of position option, Ricardo Gardner?  Perhaps the (dare I say it, over-rated) Hull back line will lure you into a move for Zayatte (4.2MM)?  If you own Traore, now is your chance to speak up. WWATOD? What would a Traore owner do?

Let us know in the comments.

nadir belhadj looks to be the new traore. he gets in with the attacking play and his shot yesterday was crispy :]

Gardner... 7 bastard matchups in the next 10 are making me think twice (and then some) about grabbing him.

Pompey, on the other hand, have a very nice run of games. I might hold Traore one week to see what happens. He's "in between" profit margins, so it doesn't really matter if he drops back to 4.7.

Also, Pamarot (4.4) had taken Belhadj's place for a couple of games, and now he's in right midfield (according to the Yahoo matchcast.) Is he the new manager's Traore? Looks like he's trying to get him in there at any cost. (He was a regular last season, when healthy... if I remember correctly.)

Jay -

Don't know what's up with Yahoo. Pamarot was in defense yesterday, Niko was on the right of midfield and Belhadj was on the left...

Sungjoo-

Gardnder and Belhadj look strong long term selections, yes, from the "Bargain bin."

Garrido would be an interesting option... if we knew that he'd play regularly. He started 5, then Ben Haim seemed to be preferred for 2, and now he's back again - taking corners and free kicks.

I have enough $ in the bank to make a radical move, like this one:

A Young + Arteta OUT

FOR

Gerrard + Modric IN

Who do you guys think will score more over the course of a season?

Ibra,
I'm about ready to be done with Arteta and am also looking to pick up Bentley or Modric , too. I would say your proposed move is a good one. I'm not too confident in Gerrard, but at least he's producing more than your current two. Kuyt is pretty tempting given his current form, but he did nothing until the final 10 seconds of stoppage time last week and Torres is back.

What do you guys think, Modric or Bentley? I like that Modric is playing up top and will save me a little cash, but Bentley is proven and has been producing.

As for Gardner, I like his play the last 2 weeks, but his fixtures do look rather difficult, and Jay is right that Portsmouth's games are pretty attractive. Garrido - I'm staying far away from anything Citeh related.

...and by last week I meant yesterday in reference to Kuyt.

I forgot to mention that Bent had another great game, as I'm sure you all know. I just may grab him if Defoe keeps doing so little.

Gerrard is not worth his price, compared to someone indispensable like Lampard or Ronaldo has been up till now. I fancy Spurs players to get good points now though.

Anyway I think Belhadj is the ideal like-for-like swap. Not many attractive options at 4.5 though, perhaps Bolton defenders, Luke Young, Nosworthy, Asou Ekotto (who just got himself a 1-match ban)

Gerrard is just a bit too pricey to be "Worth it," you guys are correct.

I don't like getting deducted for transfers, but this week I'm going with "Aston Villa Out" (A Young and Carew) and "Tottenham In" (Modric and Bent).

This leaves me with a ton of cash in the bank to upgrade my strike force and/or defense next week.

Though I love A. Young for the LONG Term, it's only week 12, and his price won't go up, so I think I'll give Spurs an experiment until the new year, and then after Villa's tough fixtures (Arsenal, Man Utd, and @ a resurgent Everton in 3 of next 5) I'll probably bring Ashley back in around Gameweek 18 and hope for a superb second half from the talented speedster...

a gamble betting on Tottenham, but I have a soft spot for Redknapp and why not shake things up...

Ashley Young is being double-teamed a lot this season. He'll adjust, but I wouldn't quite expect last year's numbers. Still decent value, of course.

I grabbed Bent (for Defoe) yesterday, mainly for a little monetary profit. 41,000 adds already - he'll go up 0.2 this week. Enough interesting striker options to make Defoe (even at a discount) expendable, whether Bent keeps it up or not.
