Blog favorite Ashley Young has been a staple in our fantasy lineups since his good old newly-promoted Watford days, years ago. But with only one assist (and zero goals) in his last five matches, the out-of-form speedster has hit a rough patch, and faces Manchester United and Arsenal in his next 2-of-3 Premier League fixtures. On the other hand, similarly priced Dirk Kuyt has scored 4 goals in his last 5 matches, and faces West Brom, Bolton, and Fulham in his next three. Wow-a-wee-wa.
It looks like Young won't come close to last year's 8 goal and 17 assist campaign this year, so, on Election Day, I leave it up to you - the brilliant Butt readers - to decide.
Ashley Young or Dirk Kuyt? Imagine the season started today and you had a clean 8.6MM slate to spend, but you could only spend it on one of these two studs. No Arteta's, Ireland's, or Bentley's. Who would get your vote?
Let your voices be heard.

Before coming to Liverpool, Kuyt scored 71 in 101 at Feyenoord (as a striker, but still - absolutely amazing).
With Torres returning to fitness, I think that Young may be the better long term selection.
If managers have transfers available, I'd go with Kuyt until Thanksgiving or so (late Nov/early Dec. for those non-US readers) and then stick it out with Young the rest of the way..
Looks like Kuyt should be going up 0.1 this week, seeing as he's currently netting 17000 transfers in for the gameweek. If Young doesn't put up a good game this week, he could very well fall to 8.5, which (although a very small price adjustment) could make him much easier to fit into my lineup.
Anyway, it will take me several weeks to get rid of some of the dead weight on my team (Hart, Laursen, Ireland, Reo-Coker, maybe even Traore) and clear up enough cash to even make this decision.
Hoping for a big week from Arteta so I can regain a little confidence in him!
Kuyt is probably a good short-term guy. But once Torres is back, he'll disappear again. I'd go with Young.
As for Arteta - he's way overdue. I got him at 7.5, so I'm not gonna drop him anytime soon. But yeah, would be nice if he got back to his early season form. With Yakubu and Saha up front, and now Cahill back (and Everton finding a little form, it seems), one would think that he'll at least get a couple of assists sooner rather than later. And with opponents having some other players to worry about now, he might just grab a goal as well.
arteta played well on saturday, he created 3 clear cut chances but bad finishing cost us all some assist points....
hopefully everton will start scroing freely and he will be at forefront
i had kuyt for a few weeks and got some good points, but i think if torres is back kuyt's time is up
i dont like villas run of games either...might be worth downgrading to bentley
all of the 8m midfielders seem to be strugglign a little bit...swp has been worthless the past 4 weeks
How come you reccomend Kuyt just as Torres is due back? I've had him in for weeks ;)

Not really a "recommendation," just an election day "Decision" to stir up some debate - as Young's form has fallen.
This would (obviously) not be a debate at all if Young could duplicate his output from last year..
Regardless, Torres is coming back from a knee injury and probably won't be rushed to full 90 minutes of action - whilst Kuyt has proven that he can score goals from his wide right position too...
Two seasons ago he scored 12 in the Premier League from a wide right position...
